Safety architecture
Control without blind changes.
GHOST FPS is built around selection, explanation, backup, verification and rollback. It does not rely on a one-click pile of hidden commands.
Back up
The original value is recorded before a supported setting changes, including whether a value originally existed.
Apply
Operations run through the controlled backend and request administrator approval only when the action requires it.
Verify
Readback and command results confirm whether Windows accepted the requested change.
Restore
Rollback uses the exact saved original state rather than assuming every PC started with the same default.
Protected customer data
Your working data survives normal updates and uninstall.
The 4.6 installer preserves the signed activation, username, backups, logs and history when installed over an existing 4.5.0 copy. The normal uninstall also keeps those data files unless you deliberately remove local licence data.

Online licence
One code, linked to the first PC that activates it.
The app checks the Cloudflare licence server on launch and once per hour while open. A valid signed activation can continue temporarily when the server cannot be reached.

What cleaning avoids
Personal data is outside the intended cleaning scope.
The cleaning engine targets defined temporary and cache locations. It does not intentionally clean the following areas.
Downloads and Documents
Your personal folders are not part of the cleaning catalogue.
Browser profiles
Saved logins, bookmarks, history and browser profile data are not cleaning targets.
Saved games
Game saves and game profile folders are not intentionally removed.
Installed programs
Cleaning does not uninstall software. Temporary installer copies may be selectable after seven days.
Important limits
Windows optimisation is hardware, driver and game dependent. A setting that helps one PC may have no effect or worsen behaviour on another. GHOST FPS gives you a safer way to test and reverse settings. It cannot guarantee a specific FPS increase, lower ping or repair result.
The 4.6.0 executable is not code-signed. Windows may therefore show an unfamiliar-app warning.
